Muscat University Update on Coronavirus

Mar 14, 2020

As you may have all observed, the Covid-19 situation in Oman and globally has gotten to a level that is concerning and Ministry of Education has today called for all educational institutions to cease face-to face learning and teaching operations for a month starting from tomorrow, 15th March 2020. In line with this directive, all students are NOT required to attend classes and are in fact requested to REFRAIN from coming in to campus for any other activities during this period.

For Foundation & Undergraduate students, the university has decided to provide a complete break from any kind of learning activities for the coming week  (week of  15 Mar-21 Mar).  Although there will be no face-to face lessons/delivery for one month, your respective faculties and lecturers will be having discussions with our UK partners and exploring other ways in which we might be able to engage and continue with lessons such as online methods. Please check your emails for updates and communications regarding this by the end of this week (Thursday 19th March).

For Postgraduate students with delivery scheduled this week, your respective programme directors will be communicating with you on plans and next steps.

Once again, during this period, please stay safe and healthy, and keep us informed of any information that may be relevant to this situation.
