Muscat University hosted the SPE Distinguished Lecturer Series in collaboration with Society of Petroleum Engineers – SPE Oman Section. Each year, SPE selects a group of professionals, nominated by their peers, to share their knowledge and expertise with SPE members through visits to local sections. Dr. Nader Mosavat, Director of Programmes in Faculty of Engineering and Technology, welcomed delegates and highlighted the importance of industrial engagement in academic institutions. As well, he discussed areas of academic contributions in SPE’s activities in Oman. The lecture entitled “Coiled Tubing Real-Time Monitoring: A New Era of Well Intervention & Workover Optimization” was presented by Pierre Ramondenc who is the Well Intervention Domain Manager for Schlumberger, with over 10 years of oilfield experience
