Muscat University celebrates the successful end to its first Pre-sessional English Programme for postgraduate students
Muscat University finished its first pre-sessional English Programme for students wishing to join one of its Masters’ programmes in collaboration with Cranfield University, UK. All of the students successfully passed English for Academic purposes assessments in reading and writing and listening and speaking.
One student on the course commented:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the university and the pre-sessional teachers for providing the Pre-sessional English Course. All of the students who took the course feel they have learned a lot which will definitely help us when we get on our master degree. Looking forward to learning more from you in Pre-sessional English 2”. Hussain Al Hamaidani, Manager Ramp Services, Airside Operations, TRANSOM Handling.
“We are delighted to have finished Muscat University’s first Pre-sessional English Programme. The programme aims to enhance students’ academic literacies and language in preparation to take one of our Master’s courses in partnership with Cranfield University, UK. The course started as face-to-face delivery but then moved to online for the last few weeks due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The blended delivery was actually useful for the students as it replicates the method of learning and teaching they will receive on their master’s course. The next part of the course starts on Sunday, April 19th and will focus more on independent research with the students researching and writing on a topic relevant to their career and future studies” Mr. Eliot Wright Director, Pathway Programmes.
