Biography
Dr. Rana Asif Rehman (Senior Member, IEEE) is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Muscat University, Oman. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, in 2010, an M.S. in Computer Science from the International Islamic University, Islamabad, in 2012, and a Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Engineering from Hongik University, South Korea, in 2016. His academic career includes positions at the University of Sargodha and FAST-NUCES, where he progressed from Lecturer to Associate Professor before joining Muscat University. Dr. Rehman’s research interests focus on computer networks and cybersecurity, with expertise in energy-efficient routing protocols, secure communication frameworks, blockchain applications, caching and forwarding techniques, and named data networking for wireless, cognitive radio, and Internet of Things systems. He is an active member of several IEEE societies and KSII, and also holds certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
