Dr. Nader Mosavat holds PhD in Petroleum Systems Engineering, MSc in Chemical Engineering, and two BSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. He is recipient of 2016 National Research Award in Energy and Industry Research Field by The Research Council, Oman. Prior to joining Muscat University, he was research faculty in Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Department and Oil and Gas Research Center at Sultan Qaboos University where he taught MSc courses, developed research and supervised MSc and PhD students. He has more than 20 journal publications as well as numbers of conference presentations. Dr. Mosavat’s research interest are: Microfluidics for Energy Applications, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Renewable Energy, and Numerical Simulation.
As Director of Programmes in Engineering and Technology Faculty, Dr. Nader Mosavat is responsible for completing development of the degree program, recruiting and leading faculty and staff, liaising and establishing strong working relationship with academic partners, developing strategic links with employers, and ensuring successful commencement of operation. Dr. Nader is currently focusing on a series of academic activities, planning and management, and external relations. Currently, one of his main emphasis is to establish chemistry lab, design lab, process engineering lab, and research lab where state of the art facilities will be procured for high quality student practicals and novel research activities.
