About

Dr Ahmad Ghoneim is an Associate Professor in Digital Marketing and Director of Faculty of Business and Management at Muscat University. Previously he was the Accreditations at the Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences – University of Bradford (Triple Crown Accredited University). He served as the Director of Undergraduate Studies and Chair of the Ethics Committee at Brunel Business School and He was awarded his PhD and MSc in Information Systems Evaluation from Brunel University London.

Dr Ghoneim has over 50 peer-reviewed internationally refereed papers and book chapters and has published his work in well-acclaimed journals such as the Journal of Marketing Management, European Journal of Operational Research as well as in international conferences. He is on the editorial team of several journals and co-edited a special issue for the European Journal of Information Systems and International Journal of Cases in E-commerce He has served a Chair of the well-acclaimed grade (B) European Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Conference on Information Systems (EMCIS).

He has over 12 years of UG, PGT (MSc and MBA) and Executive Education in a variety of Information Systems/Management and technology-related subjects, namely: Management Principles, Digital Marketing, Big Data Analytics in Social Media, Business Intelligence, Database and Customer Relationship Management, and Marketing Strategic Simulations. He has experience in curriculum design and development and has recently developed an MSc in Business Intelligence and Social Media. He delivers big data analytics modules at UG, and PG levels with a focus on the social media context.

He successfully supervised to completion PhD, MBA and MSc and UG students in Marketing and Technology related research. He also delivered Micro-MBA workshops for the Cabinet office and Her Majesty’s HM-Treasury on leveraging Social Media. He consults for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on University Systems Enhancements in Iraqi universities, and E-learning training for Academic Staff.

He is the SAS Academy Coordinator and trained in SAS Enterprise Guide Analytical tool. He is also a certified Strategic simulation instructor for Markstrat and Blue Ocean Strategy Simulation (BOSS). He is a certified Recognised Academic Programme Developer (RPD). 

He has led a grant for the UK Higher Education Academy on enhancing the alignment of programme level accreditation. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

  • His research interests include Information Systems adoption and evaluation in public and private sectors, Trust in Digital Technologies, e-retailing, CRM, and Knowledge management, Digital Marketing, Social Media, and eBusiness diffusion.
