Director of Human Resources, Muscat University
Job Summary
Muscat University (MU) seeks a full-time Human Resources Director (HRD) to ensure all Human Resources operations (HR Ops) are carried on smoothly and effectively. The HDR will be responsible for developing HR strategies, systems and policies and providing sound advice to senior management on all related subjects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- HR Planning and Management: Identify current, and future hiring or training needs to ensure that the University has the right type of talent spread throughout its departments. Deliver performance management programs that drive a high-performance culture.
- Recruitment and Selection: Direct and manage efficiently and effectively the recruitment and selection process by attracting and selecting suitable candidates to support the academic and administrative needs of the University.
- Human Resources Policy: Develop, implement and maintain human resources policies and procedures across the University, including training programs to educate and promote awareness of regulatory compliance.
- Remuneration, Promotion and other Incentives: Plan and organise salary reviews and staff appraisals and ensure fair and transparent procedures in implementing rewards and incentives.
- Learning and Development: Implement and monitor the effectiveness of training programmes and their support systems. Devise strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training and development etc.
- Compliance with the Country’s Law: Identify the Omani legal requirements and Government reporting regulations affecting the HR functions. Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
Requirements and Skills
- A Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior position within the HR environment.
- Thorough knowledge of Omani employment law and personnel best practices.
- People-oriented and results-driven.
- Ability to highly engage with colleagues and management.
- Implement initiatives successfully.
- Superior interpersonal coaching, communication, negotiation, consultation, and presentation skills at all levels.
