Message from the Muscat University Vice-Chancellor
Welcome to Muscat University in the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman.
Muscat University has been granted a licence to establish the university by the Education Council, the supreme education body of the Omani government. Currently based in the Children’s Public Library in Al Qurum, we will move in 2017 to our new purpose-built premises opposite the Avenues Mall in the centre of Muscat.
The University’s programmes are delivered through our three Faculties of Business and Management, Engineering and Technology, and Transport and Logistics.
Muscat University has established formal affiliation agreements with three international academic partners. Two of the UK’s leading universities, Cranfield University and Aston University, will co-deliver degree programmes with Muscat University from September 2017; pathway programmes leading to these degree programmes commenced in October 2016 through an academic affiliation agreement with MLS International College of Bournemouth, UK.
The postgraduate programmes will be offered by Cranfield University in collaboration with Muscat University while the undergraduate programmes will be offered through an additional collaboration agreement between Aston University and Muscat University. On successful completion of their degree programmes, students at Muscat University will be awarded a degree from both Muscat University and from its relevant partner institution, either Cranfield University or Aston University.
The vision of Muscat University is to deliver first-class teaching supported by research that is rigorous and relevant to the social and economic priorities of Oman and of the region. Muscat University provides a high quality local education option for Omani students and expatriate students resident in Oman. We will also seek to attract a significant proportion of international students from outside Oman, meaning our students will undertake their learning in an environment of diversity and inclusion.
We look forward to welcoming you as a student or as a collaborator in research and consultancy. Please join with us and share in the success of Oman’s newest higher education institution, Muscat University.

Message from the Executive Director of Quality, Government and Founder Relations
As a new institution, Muscat University has committed to providing an educational experience of the highest quality. This commitment is demonstrated and continually reinforced in everything we do, from our premises, to our partnerships, and our programmes; all have the hallmark of quality.
At Muscat University we believe that in order to compete in a market where students are more informed than ever and employers are more selective than ever, our end product i.e. our graduates, must be equipped with the skills necessary to excel in their careers and this can only be achieved through an educational experience that is internationally competitive built on strong foundations of quality and rigour.
Muscat University, as a Higher Education Institution has to adhere to not only the Oman Academic Accreditation Authority (OAAA) guidelines but also given our UK partnerships, we have to adhere to the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) guidelines and this ensures that our quality standards are comparable to any UK institution.
As a student of Muscat University, or a delegate at one of our Executive Education programmes, you can rest assured that you will be receiving a high quality offering, a stimulating journey and a rewarding experience.
I look forward to welcoming you to Muscat University.
