Scholarships

We offer a range of attractive partial scholarships (covering only tuition fees) for all our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Available scholarships and candidate eligibility are outlined below. Both international and Omani students are eligible unless otherwise noted. Successful applicants can be awarded only one scholarship per year; scholarships may not be combined.

The Muscat University scholarships committee will meet to consider scholarships awards to students who have already received an offer of admission to one of the Muscat University programmes by end of August 2017. You are encouraged to apply early for admission to Muscat University programmes to ensure availability of scholarships opportunities.The Muscat University Scholarships Programmes offered for the Academic Year 2017-2018 are:

  1. Muscat University Entrance Scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate Omani and international applicants.
  2. Oman Data Park Scholarships for Omani postgraduate applicants for the course of MSc in Management and Entrepreneurship.

 Muscat University Entrance Scholarships

The Muscat University Entrance Scholarships support academically excellent Omani and international students who would like to undertake a full-time undergraduate programme and a full-time or part-time postgraduate programme of study at Muscat University.

Undergraduate Programmes

  • All awarded scholarships will reduce the corresponding programme tuition fees for the academic year of 2017-2018 only. Candidates will need to re-apply for a scholarship award for the next academic year 2018-2019 and all subsequent years of study.
  • The scholarship award for all our undergraduate programmes is up to 40% of the tuition fees of the programme of interest.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants for our undergraduate programmes must fulfil all Muscat University specific entry criteria to the programme of interest as a minimum.
  • They must have a good academic record.
  • Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman
  • other Muscat University scholarships or scholarships from other sponsors.

Requirements:

  • Write a letter to the Muscat University scholarships committee outlining why you are eligible for the award.
  • A copy of the letter/email from Muscat University and our Partner Aston University confirming your offer of a place on your chosen course.
  • An official copy of your transcript from your most recent/current academic study.
  • A reference letter written specifically in support of your scholarship application. This should be written by a previous tutor professor academic or employer (where relevant to your chosen degree course) and cannot be the same reference provided as part of your admission application.

Note: Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend an interview with the Scholarships panel at Muscat University campus. Alternative arrangements can be made for international students living outside of Oman (e.g. telephone or Skype interview).

Postgraduate Programmes

  • All awarded scholarships will reduce the corresponding programme tuition fees for the academic year of 2017-2018 only.
  • The scholarship award for all our postgraduate programmes is up to 40% of the tuition fees of the programme of interest.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants for our postgraduate programmes must fulfil all Muscat University specific entry criteria to the programme of interest as a minimum.
  • They must have a good academic record.
  • Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by Muscat University or other sponsors.

Requirements:

  • Write a letter to the Muscat University scholarships committee outlining why you are eligible for the award.
  • A copy of the letter/email from Muscat University and our Partner Cranfield University confirming your offer of a place on your chosen course.
  • An official copy of your transcript from your most recent/current academic study.
  • A reference letter written specifically in support of your scholarship application. This should be written by a previous tutor professor academic or employer (where relevant to your chosen degree course) and cannot be the same reference provided as part of your admission application.

Oman Data Park Scholarships

The Oman Data Park Scholarships support academically excellent Omani students who would like to undertake a full-time or part-time postgraduate programme of study at Muscat University and specifically for the course of MSc in Management and Entrepreneurship

  • All awarded Oman Data Park scholarships will reduce the corresponding programme tuition fees for the academic year of 2017-2018 only.
  • The Oman Data Park scholarship award for the MSc in Management and Entrepreneurship is up to 40% of the tuition fees of the programme.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants for the MSc in Management and Entrepreneurship programme must fulfil all Muscat University specific entry criteria to the programme as a minimum.
  • They must have a good academic record.
  • Applicants cannot be recipients of other scholarships offered by Muscat University or other sponsors.

Requirements:

  • Write a letter to the Muscat University scholarships committee outlining why you are eligible for the award.
