Innovative Entrepreneurship Programme

In partnership with Oxford University Innovation, Muscat University is holding a dynamic two-day Executive Education programme on Innovative Entrepreneurship on 23-24 May, 2017.

The programme is for entrepreneurs, researchers and students with a business idea or innovative concept that they would like to launch now or in the future. This will be an interactive workshop delivered by Oxford University Innovation consultants who will use their expertise to cover topics such as managing intellectual property, developing an appropriate business model and delivering an effective business pitch.

Pete Moores, Managing Consultant

Pete has 15 years of experience of working within the ‘Triple Helix’ of industry innovation, academic output and government funding. Driven by a desire to see technology applied for the benefit of businesses, Pete has experience of working across multiple industry sectors including: environmental, automotive, aerospace, and food processing. He specialises in innovation strategy development, training and helping organisations integrate new technology to improve productivity, efficiency, profitability and competitive advantage. Prior to joining IE, Pete worked for the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) to grow their Training and Knowledge Services businesses. With nearly 18 years as a strategic business development professional, he works with universities and corporate clients to build sustainable value propositions and create value from technology.

As a knowledge transfer and early stage technology specialist, Pete has personally been responsible for building consortiums of academics and businesses to bid for and win, over £10 million of collaborative and translational research funding from UK and EU governments, giving him deep knowledge of innovation ecosystems and helping businesses unlock their innovation potential. He has a BEng in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and gained an MBA with Distinction from Kingston Business School.

Eva Baltar, Senior Associate Consultant

Eva is a consultant with twelve years of experience in Technology Transfer, performing technical and commercial analysis of technologies, detecting business opportunities, negotiating license agreements, spinning out companies and delivering specialised training. Before joining Isis Enterprise Eva spent three years working as a Technology Transfer Manager at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where she was also an investment analyst at a venture capital society specialising in technology-based spin-outs. Eva afterwards moved to the private sector and gained experience as a Deputy Finance Director, and later returned to technology transfer management at the Deputy Vice Presidency of Knowledge Transfer at CSIC, the largest public research institution in Spain. At CSIC she managed, for more than three years, R&D projects and the commercialisation of technologies through the creation of spin-outs. Eva is fluent in Spanish, English and Galician and has worked on projects from different countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
